PNB Digital Credit Card Launch: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has entered into a partnership with the fintech company Kiwi to simplify digital payments for its approximately 180 million customers. Kiwi is recognized as a 'Credit-on-UPI' platform. The objective of this initiative is to extend credit facilities to customers via UPI, thereby making the payment process significantly more convenient for them.

Under this initiative, the bank will launch the 'PNB Kiwi Credit Card' on the RuPay network. Through this card, customers will be able to make payments via UPI even if they do not have a balance in their bank account. Let's find out more about this offering.

Easy to Use, Plus Cashback

This card will be entirely digital and will integrate seamlessly with UPI, making the payment process extremely simple. Additionally, users will receive cashback ranging from 0.5% to 1.5% on online transactions. This means users will enjoy the dual benefit of both convenience and cashback rewards.

A Digital Card with Zero Fees

This card will be issued in a completely digital format, allowing customers to apply for it online from the comfort of their homes. The application process involves minimal paperwork and hassle, making it both simple and fast.

Most notably, this card carries neither a joining fee nor an annual fee, making it an even more attractive and convenient option for the general public.

Expanding Reach to Rural Areas

Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra, Executive Director at Punjab National Bank, stated that digital payments are growing rapidly across the country, with UPI playing a pivotal role in this expansion. He highlighted that the bank possesses a robust network of over 10,000 branches nationwide, approximately 60% of which are located in semi-urban and rural regions. Through this network, the bank is striving to extend formal credit facilities even to those who have remained outside its reach until now.
