CNG Price: Following Petrol and Diesel, CNG Also Becomes More Expensive; Prices Rise by ₹2 Per Kg Nationwide—Check the New Rates..
Amidst the crisis involving Iran, oil companies have finally hiked CNG prices. Effective Friday, the price of CNG has gone up by ₹2 per kilogram. The new rate for CNG in Delhi now stands at ₹79.09 per kilogram. In addition to the national capital, Delhi, CNG prices have also risen across the National Capital Region (NCR). This morning, the companies increased CNG rates by ₹2 per kilogram in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram as well.
Following Prime Minister Modi's appeal to conserve fuel, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra had also advocated for an increase in oil and gas prices. Both Puri and the Governor had explicitly stated that, given the mounting pressure on oil companies, a price hike could not be deferred for much longer. Subsequently, on Friday morning, petrol and diesel prices were first raised by over ₹3, and now, CNG has also become more expensive.
**All Gas Companies Implement New Rates**
CNG prices have risen by ₹2 per kilogram in other cities across the country, including Delhi-NCR. In reality, India imports approximately 60 percent of its natural gas requirements. The supply of natural gas has been severely disrupted due to the crisis involving Iran; consequently, various gas companies—including IGL and MGL—have now raised their prices. The companies maintain that, in light of the increased cost of imports, they have been compelled to pass this financial burden on to their customers.
