CM Yogi Makes Major Announcement: A Second 'Noida' to be Built in UP; Residents to Receive These Facilities..
UP News: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a significant decision regarding Agra. CM Yogi has announced the establishment of a new township named 'Greater Agra.' In the coming times, this township has the potential to evolve into a large and modern city, much like Noida. Its objective is to elevate Agra beyond being merely a tourist destination, transforming it into a hub for employment and commerce.
On Tuesday, April 7, during an event held at Rahan Kalan—located near the Agra Inner Ring Road—CM Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 325 development projects worth over ₹6,466 crore. These initiatives are set to improve the city's roads, amenities, and infrastructure, thereby making life easier for its residents. During this same event, he unveiled the plan to construct the 'Greater Agra' township, which is slated to be developed along the lines of Noida in the future.
**What Will Be Special About 'Greater Agra'?**
This new township will be constructed at an estimated cost of approximately ₹5,142 crore and will span an area of over 449 hectares. It is designed to accommodate more than 10,000 families.
**Facilities Available to Residents**
* Multi-story flats and residential plots
* Well-constructed roads and a robust sewerage system
* Parks and green spaces
* All amenities characteristic of a modern city.
**Sectors to Be Named After Rivers**
A unique feature of this township is that its various sectors will be named after sacred rivers such as the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. This approach aims to create a harmonious blend of both culture and modernity within the city.
**New Opportunities for Employment and Business**
CM Yogi stated that the realization of this project would attract major corporations to Agra. Consequently, this will generate excellent job opportunities for the youth and bolster the city's economy. This township will be developed by the Agra Development Authority under the Uttar Pradesh government's 'New City Promotion Scheme.'
**Focus on the Airport and Other Projects**
The government is also rapidly advancing the development of the Agra Airport, with plans in place to construct a new terminal by the end of this year. At the same time, attention is also being paid to the development of Fatehpur Sikri.
