CM Samrat Chaudhary has transferred funds into the accounts of 2.5 lakh farmers in Bihar; check your status..
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has transferred funds via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of 2.48 lakh farmers in the state under the 'Agriculture Input Grant Scheme'. The government has transferred a total of Rs 112.52 crore to these accounts. This financial assistance is being provided as relief to compensate for the extensive crop damage caused by recent heavy rainfall and unexpected floods in the state. However, funds have yet to be transferred to the accounts of more than 2 lakh other farmers.
The government is providing financial assistance based on the land held by the farmers and the type of crops grown; therefore, the amount disbursed varies from farmer to farmer.
**Grant amounts by crop type**
For unirrigated crop areas, a grant of Rs 8,500 per hectare has been provided. For irrigated crop areas, the assistance is Rs 17,000 per hectare, while for perennial (multi-year) crops, a compensation of Rs 22,500 per hectare has been granted.
**When will the remaining farmers receive the grant?**
The department received a total of approximately 4.57 lakh applications under the Agriculture Input Grant Scheme. Following verification in the first phase, funds were transferred to the accounts of 2.48 lakh farmers. Meanwhile, 2.09 lakh farmers—who missed out on this first installment due to technical reasons or because their names were omitted from the list—will now be covered through an expedited process. The government will provide the grant amount to these remaining farmers in a second phase.
The Chief Minister has issued strict instructions to the concerned officials to launch a special verification drive starting October 22. During this drive, the documents of all eligible farmers who were previously left out will be examined, and the crop damage grant will be disbursed to them as quickly as possible, ensuring that these farmers receive financial support during the festive season.
