The 'Chief Minister's Cashless Medical Scheme for Teachers' is a significant health welfare initiative launched by the Uttar Pradesh government for teachers and staff associated with basic and secondary education. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch this scheme for teachers in Varanasi on July 8. Through this scheme, eligible teachers and their dependent family members from the Basic and Secondary Education Departments will be provided with cashless medical facilities, aligned with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
**Launch of the Chief Minister's Cashless Medical Scheme for Teachers**
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced this scheme on the occasion of Teachers' Day. Archana Verma, CEO of SACHIS, stated that a digital system has been adopted for the effective and transparent operation of the scheme. To facilitate this, an online data collection portal was developed by the department to compile details of eligible beneficiaries. The registration, verification, and approval of teachers will be carried out through a digital process via this portal.
So far, 789,032 beneficiaries have registered their details on the portal developed for the Basic Education Department. The details provided by the beneficiaries will be verified by the respective Block Education Officers (BEOs). Subsequently, the District Basic Education Officers (BSAs) will grant final approval.
Upon receiving approval at the BSA level, the beneficiaries' data will be integrated with the National Health Authority's (NHA) Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) portal. Following this, beneficiaries will be able to complete the Aadhaar-based e-KYC process, download their digital cards, and avail the benefits of the scheme.
**Benefits of the Chief Minister's Cashless Medical Scheme for Teachers**
**Financial Cover:** Eligible beneficiaries and their dependents will be provided with cashless medical treatment of up to ₹5 lakh per year at government and empanelled private hospitals.
**Eligibility:** The scheme covers approximately 15 lakh employees and their dependent family members, including teachers, non-teaching staff, Shiksha Mitras (para-teachers), instructors, and wardens and cooks from Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas across the Basic, Secondary, and Higher Education Departments.
**Operational Mechanism:** The scheme is being operated digitally through the SACHIS portal. How to Avail the Benefit
A data collection portal has been operationalized for eligible teachers of the Secondary Education Department since July 3. Teachers will enter their details online on the portal. Their applications will be verified by the respective school principals, followed by final approval from the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS). Once approved, the beneficiaries' data will be forwarded to the National Health Authority. After completing the Aadhaar-based e-KYC, teachers will be able to download their cards and avail themselves of cashless medical facilities.
