What is the LPG price today?
Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have released the new rates for LPG cylinders for September 29. While the price of the 19 kg commercial cylinder saw a marginal increase of ₹9.50 earlier in September, the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has remained consistently stable.

Crude Oil Set to Get Costlier!
Last Monday, Brickwork Ratings issued a serious warning regarding crude oil prices for the second half of the 2026-27 fiscal year (FY27), amidst rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
According to the report, under the 'base-case scenario' (which has a 55% probability), the average price of Brent crude is projected to range between $95 and $110 per barrel during the second half of FY27. In a 'high-risk scenario,' prices could surge to record levels, reaching up to $120 per barrel.
A recent report by rating agency ICRA indicates that even at current elevated oil prices, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) are incurring a loss (under-recovery) of approximately ₹300 per domestic cylinder.
If crude oil prices reach the $115–$125 per barrel range, the annual loss incurred by oil companies on domestic LPG could rise to ₹1.21 lakh crore. Oil companies cannot shoulder this loss on their own for long. They will either need government assistance or may start gradually passing the burden of price hikes on to consumers.
