Crude Oil Prices Today
While crude oil prices fell 2% in the previous trading session, they have begun to climb again as the US increases economic pressure on Iran. On Tuesday, Brent crude is trading around $92 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) remains near $85. The US administration is preparing to impose strict sanctions—akin to an "Economic D-Day"—on Iran.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that countries trading with Iran would be given a deadline to sever commercial ties; otherwise, they could face unilateral sanctions.
However, market experts suggest that this US move could pave the way for a diplomatic solution in the future, potentially leading to a drop in prices as the "war-risk premium" associated with oil costs decreases.
What are the petrol and diesel prices today?
According to the new rate list, petrol is ₹102.12 per litre in Delhi, ₹111.31 per litre in Mumbai, ₹113.51 per litre in Kolkata, ₹107.78 per litre in Chennai, and ₹110.82 per litre in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, the price of diesel is ₹95.20 per litre in Delhi, ₹97.97 in Mumbai, ₹99.82 in Kolkata, ₹99.56 in Chennai, and ₹98.77 in Bengaluru.
The cheapest petrol and diesel in India are available in Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Due to lower taxes, petrol is priced at ₹88.66 per litre, while diesel is available in the range of approximately ₹80 to ₹85 per litre. Conversely, the most expensive petrol and diesel are found in Hyderabad; here, petrol prices range from ₹112.81 to ₹115.73 per litre, and diesel is priced at ₹103.82 per litre.
