Three ways of verification
To ensure accurate seeding of claims, EPFO has told about some new verification techniques, which are as follows.
Online Bank KYC Verification - EPFO will do the verification directly from the bank account of the member's concerned bank or National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).
Employee verification through DSC - Employees can verify their bank accounts using a Digital Signature Certificate i.e. DSC.
Verification through Aadhar Card - Verification of bank account linked to Aadhar Card can be done through Aadhar number.
These documents are required for the claim
For an EPF claim, a canceled cheque with name, bank account number, and IFSC code is required in the employee's documents. Apart from this, if there is no working checkbook, then the first page of the passbook affiliated with the bank manager can be used.
Know how to file an EPFO claim
EPF members can claim from the official website of EPFO. Know its step-by-step process-
Go to the EPFO member portal and log in with your UAN and password.
Go to "Claim" and select its type (Pension, Full Settlement).
Then verify the KYC information and update any discrepancies.
Then based on recent relaxations, upload documents through online verification methods.
After this, check this information once again and file the claim.
