CBSE Class 9 New Books 2026: Major move by CBSE-NCERT; special teacher training launched for new Class 9 Math and Science textbooks.

CBSE Class 9 New Books 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in collaboration with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), organized a special orientation workshop for teachers.

CBSE Class 9 New Books 2026: Continuous changes are being implemented in school education under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and NCF-SE 2023. In line with this, preparations have begun to effectively teach the new Class 9 Mathematics and Science textbooks. To this end, CBSE and NCERT organized a special orientation workshop for teachers. The objective was to familiarize educators with the structure of the new books, teaching methodologies, and strategies for their effective classroom use, ensuring students can easily grasp the new curriculum.

Teacher Orientation Workshop Held in Delhi

This orientation workshop, organized jointly by CBSE and NCERT, took place at the CBSE Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, New Delhi. A total of 110 teachers from CBSE-affiliated schools participated, comprising 58 Mathematics teachers and 52 Science teachers. Additionally, representatives from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) also attended the workshop.

What Were Teachers Taught at the Workshop?

All sessions of the workshop were conducted by NCERT experts. They provided insights into the rationale behind the new Mathematics and Science textbooks, their structure, and effective classroom teaching strategies. During the training, teachers were guided on how to motivate students to understand subjects and relate them to real-life scenarios, rather than relying on rote learning.

Key Focus Areas

During the workshop, teachers were introduced to the concept of Competency-Based Learning. Emphasis was also placed on connecting textbook topics to real-life situations through Experiential Learning. Discussions were held on problem-solving techniques aimed at enhancing students’ analytical abilities. Furthermore, methods for holistic assessment—aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF-SE) 2023—were explained.

Driving the New Education System as Master Trainers

According to the CBSE, the objective of this workshop is to prepare teachers to serve as master trainers. These trained teachers will subsequently assist in the effective implementation of the new curriculum across CBSE-affiliated schools. The Board states that this training will enable teachers to better grasp the educational objectives of the new textbooks and adopt classroom teaching methods that foster critical thinking, application-based learning, and a deep understanding of the subjects among students.
