UAN is extremely important for every EPFO member. Without it, you cannot log in to your PF account or use any online services. Whether it's checking your balance, filing a claim, or updating your KYC, a UAN is required everywhere. Sometimes people think that their PF number will suffice, but in reality, your account cannot be fully accessed without a UAN.
That's why if you don't remember your UAN, you should recover it as soon as possible. EPFO has provided an online facility for this, which doesn't require visiting the office or filling out lengthy forms. You just need your mobile number and some basic details. Recover your UAN in minutes.
To find your UAN online, first go to the EPFO member portal. There, go to the Important Links section and click on the "Know your UAN" option. Now, enter your registered mobile number and the captcha code, then click on Request OTP. You will receive an OTP on your mobile phone, which you will need to enter and then click on Validate OTP. After this, you will be asked for some information such as your full name, date of birth, and Aadhaar number or PAN number. After filling in these details, click on Show My UAN. Your UAN number will appear on the screen within a few seconds.
You can also find it via SMS
If you don't want to use the internet, you can also find your UAN via SMS. To do this, send an SMS with the text EPFOHO UAN ENG to 7738299899 from your mobile phone. You will receive an SMS shortly with your UAN number. It's a good idea to note down this number or save it on your phone so you don't face any problems later.
