PM Awas Yojana 2.0: The Government of India runs many schemes to empower the citizens of the country. The government makes these schemes keeping in mind different sections of the society, which is benefited by crores of people. One such scheme of the central government is Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The objective of this scheme is to provide their own house to everyone in India so that their life improves.

Everyone dreams of having their own house. A middle-class man works hard all his life to build his own house, yet the dream of building a house remains unfulfilled. For such people, the central government runs the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, under which financial assistance is given to the poor and needy people to build a house. The central government started this scheme in 2015. Now PM Awas Yojana 2.O has started, the rules of which have been changed.

Earlier this rule was there

Under PM Awas Yojana, the government gives financial assistance to the poor to build a permanent house. Earlier in this scheme, apart from parents, sons in the same family also had the facility to take advantage to build a house in their name. Provided that the house of the son's share is dilapidated or no construction work has been done on the land. However, this rule has been banned in PM Awas Yojana-2.

Can the son get the benefit of the scheme

Online applications have started under PM Awas Yojana-2. However, many changes have been made in the terms of the scheme. Under this, now if the benefit of housing has been received under any scheme in the name of the parents in the past, then the sons will not get its benefit. However, if the mother or father did not take advantage of the PM Awas Yojana in the past, then the sons will be able to get its benefit, conditions have been set for this. In such a situation, the person will have to give an affidavit. If irregularities are detected in the investigation, then both recovery and action can be taken.

Verification will be done through Aadhaar

To prevent any irregularities in the scheme, verification will be done through Aadhaar card. If a person applies to avail the benefits of the scheme, he will have to provide his parents' Aadhaar card as well, so that it can be ascertained that they have not availed the benefits of the scheme in the past.
