PM Kisan Yojana Rules: How many people from one family can benefit from the PM Kisan Yojana? The government has laid down clear rules regarding this. Learn what the rules say.

PM Kisan Yojana Rules: The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is considered a major relief for small and marginal farmers in the country. Launched in 2019, this scheme provides eligible farmers with financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually, transferred directly to their bank accounts in three installments of Rs 2,000 each.

However, as the scope of this scheme has expanded, so have the questions in the minds of farmers. The most common question is whether all members of the same family can benefit from this scheme, especially in families where more than one person is involved in farming. The government has laid down clear rules regarding this, which are very important to understand.

What do the rules related to families say?

According to the rules of the PM Kisan Yojana, only one member from a family can avail the benefits of this scheme. If the family owns agricultural land, only one beneficiary will receive the annual Rs 6,000 based on that land. Only the person whose name is registered in the government records as the owner of the agricultural land can apply.

Even if the husband and wife or other family members work together in farming, they will not all receive separate benefits. The government's focus is on the land and the family unit, not on how many people are involved in farming. This is why multiple applications from the same family are often rejected.

When can more than one person benefit?

If two members of a family live separately and own separate land in their names, then in some cases both may receive the benefits of the scheme. However, they must be registered as separate families in the government records. Having separate bank accounts or different names is not enough. Land records, family identification, and local verification are used to determine whether the benefit is going to the correct person.

Farmers can apply online at pmkisan.gov.in or seek assistance from their nearest CSC center. Your Aadhaar card, bank account details, and land documents must be accurate. Installments may be withheld if incorrect information is provided. Therefore, always submit your application according to the rules and regulations.
