Interest-free loan to start a business
Under the Lakhpati Didi scheme, the government gives a loan of up to Rs 5 lakh to women. The special thing is that this loan is interest-free. Meaning, that after taking the loan, women have to repay only the amount they have taken as a loan. No additional interest will be charged from them on this. With this money, any woman can start her own business and make herself self-reliant.
How to get the benefit of the scheme
To take advantage of the scheme, the woman will first have to join a self-help group. Self-help groups are small groups where there are mainly women living in rural areas and they come together to save money and give loans to each other. After this, if a woman wants to start her own business, then she will have to go to the office of her regional self-help group and submit the necessary documents and her business plan.
What will happen after joining self-help groups?
Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, women associated with self-help groups are given financial and skill development training by the government, so that they can become financially self-reliant. During the training, women are taught all kinds of skills, and tips are also given to start their businesses.
This is how women will become lakh patis
After completing the training, women can take loans for works like poultry farming, LED bulb manufacturing, agriculture, mushroom farming, strawberry farming, animal husbandry, milk production, handicraft work, goat rearing, and take-home ration plants and can earn money by starting their own business.
