Budget 2025: Relief to homebuyers, government will build 40000 stalled houses under SWAMIH Fund

In November 2020, the central government created a SWAMIH fund of Rs 25,000 crore with the intention of helping in completing the stalled housing projects in the real estate sector.

SWAMIH Fund: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given a big gift in the budget to those homebuyers who have been waiting for a long time for their dream home to be completed and to get its possession. The Finance Minister has announced in the budget to complete 40000 stalled and pending incomplete houses. Under the first phase of this scheme, 50000 houses have been completed so far and homebuyers are being given the keys to their homes. This project has been prepared from the SWAMIH Fund (Special Window for Affordable & Mid-Income Housing Fund) created by the government.

In November 2020, the central government created the SWAMIH Fund (Special Window for Affordable & Mid-Income Housing Fund) with a size of Rs 25,000 crore with the intention of helping complete the stalled housing projects in the real estate sector. More than 50,000 stalled housing projects across the country are being completed through this investment fund for affordable and middle-income group housing projects.
