The Bihar Technical Services Commission (BTSC) has announced a recruitment notification for the post of Work Inspector, for which candidates can apply by visiting the official website.

Candidates applying for the Work Inspector position must meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. They must have passed Class 10th from a recognized board or institute. They must also possess an ITI certificate. Regarding the age limit, the minimum age for candidates must be 18 years. The maximum age for general category candidates is 37 years. Age relaxation is provided to female candidates, with a maximum age limit of 40 years. The maximum age limit for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates is 42 years.

Application Fee

Candidates from all categories must pay an application fee to apply for this recruitment process. The Commission has set the application fee at ₹100. Payment must also be made online. Forms submitted without the application fee will not be considered valid, so candidates should be mindful of this.

How will the selection be conducted?

Selection for the Work Inspector position will be based on a written examination. This exam will be computer-based and will carry a total of 100 marks. The exam will include questions from subjects such as wireman, electrician, mathematics, and general knowledge. Candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer, while one-fourth of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Negative marking will also apply, so candidates must carefully prepare their answers.

Minimum marks have been set for different categories of candidates to pass the written examination. General category candidates must score at least 40 percent. For backward classes, this threshold is 36 percent. Extremely Backward Class candidates must score 34 percent, and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates must score at least 32 percent. Successful candidates will be called for the next stage, which will include document verification.
