BPL Ration Card holders get loans up to Rs 10 lakh, know how to apply
Many schemes are run by the Government of India and the state governments for the poor and needy people of the country. People living below the poverty line get many facilities from the government. BPL cards are made for people living below the poverty line and they are given free ration through the card.
To get a free ration, any person can apply for a ration card at his nearest ration dealer. However, the BPL ration card provides more facilities than just free ration; it also provides the facility to take loans. The government gives loans up to Rs 10 lakh to BPL cardholders. Here is how you can get this loan and what is its process.
Loan amount from 2 lakh to 10 lakh
In Haryana, the state government provides loans to BPL cardholders at low interest rates to boost their business. The loan amount ranges from 2 lakh to 10 lakh. Under the industrial sector and small business categories, the National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) provides business loans to Scheduled Caste BPL cardholders.
The Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation runs a self-employment scheme to encourage Scheduled Caste BPL cardholder youth to start their own business. Any resident of Haryana who belongs to the Scheduled Caste and has a BPL ration card is eligible for this loan.
How to apply for a loan
To apply for a loan using a BPL ration card, visit a bank and inquire about the loans available for BPL cardholders. Get the application form and fill it up, attach all the required documents, and submit it. If you meet the eligibility criteria, your application will be processed successfully.
Once approved, the loan amount will be disbursed to you. The interest rate on this loan is also subsidized. Note that BPL ration cards are only issued to people living below the poverty line, whose annual family income is less than Rs 1 lakh.
