Here's great news for passengers: Indian Railways has announced a special discount on the RailOne mobile app to promote online ticket booking.

Now, you don't need to stand in long queues at the station to buy train tickets. Times have changed, and the railways are also rapidly moving towards Digital India. Now you can book general (unreserved) tickets in just a few minutes using your mobile phone. The great news for passengers is that Indian Railways has announced a special discount on the RailOne mobile app to encourage online ticket booking. This facility will directly benefit ordinary passengers who buy general tickets for their daily commute.

The railways have decided to offer a 3 percent discount on booking unreserved (general) tickets through the RailOne mobile app. This offer will be valid from January 14, 2026, to July 14, 2026, meaning passengers will get cheaper tickets for a full six months.

This scheme will benefit all passengers who book general tickets through the mobile app using digital payment methods. If you travel by train daily, this offer can be quite beneficial for you.

If you pay through any digital method such as UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking on the RailOne app, you will get a direct 3 percent discount while booking your ticket. This discount will not be available if you pay using R-Wallet.

However, if you book tickets using the R-Wallet on the RailOne app, you already receive a 3 percent cashback bonus.

The railway's objective is to promote digital ticketing, reduce cash transactions, and provide faster and easier facilities to passengers. This will reduce crowding at stations and save passengers' time.

The RailOne app is not limited to just ticket booking. On a single app, you get reserved and unreserved ticket booking, platform tickets, live train location, PNR status, coach position, food booking facility, options to register complaints and suggestions, and parcel tracking.
