There is good news for train passengers. Often, during a train journey, we may forget to pack essential items, or perhaps require medicine due to a sudden health issue. Many passengers, for instance, frequently forget to bring their mobile chargers. Now, however, such essential items can be delivered directly to you on the train. Previously, the only option for delivery on board was food; however, the scope of this service has now been expanded. Passengers can now use the quick-commerce platform 'Blinkit' to have necessary items delivered to them while on a moving train.

Agreement between the Railways and Blinkit
The Railways is continuously taking new initiatives to enhance passenger convenience. As part of this effort, the Salem Division of Southern Railway has agreed with the quick-commerce company, Blinkit. While this service has been launched as a pilot project, its success could lead to its implementation at other major railway stations across the country.

What kind of essential items can passengers order?
Medicines and medical supplies
Personal care and hygiene products
Mobile chargers and other tech accessories
Food, beverages, and snacks
Essential items for children

Please note that the availability of items will depend on the stock and presence of Blinkit at the respective railway station.

How to place an order during your journey?
If you wish to order items via Blinkit while traveling, you can follow these simple steps:

Open the Blinkit app on your phone.
Enter the location or PIN code of the railway station where the train is scheduled to stop and where you wish to receive your items.
Add the required items to your cart.
When placing the order, provide details such as the train name, train number, coach number, and berth number.

Once your train arrives at the designated station, you can collect your items from the specified delivery point. Passengers are advised to check the availability of the service at the relevant station and the train's scheduled stoppage time before placing an order to ensure timely delivery.
