Bihar Elections 243 Vidhan Sabha Seats Voting Schedule: The bugle has been sounded for the Bihar Assembly elections. Elections will be held in two phases for a total of 243 seats. Voting will be held for 121 seats in the first phase and 122 seats in the second phase. The term of the current Bihar Assembly expires on November 22. According to the Election Commission, a new government will be formed before that date. Political parties had also urged the Commission to hold the elections immediately after the Chhath festival in late October to ensure maximum voter participation, as a large number of people working outside the state return home for the festivals during that time. The total number of voters in the state is 74.2 million, of which 39.2 million are male voters and 35 million are female voters. A key question on people's minds is when voting will take place in their respective constituencies.
