Big relief for pensioners! Submit your Life Certificate from home this November—complete the process via face verification on your mobile.
Pensioners can now submit their digital life certificate from the comfort of their homes using their mobile phones. Face authentication has made this process simple. Learn the complete procedure here.
Every year in November, pensioners are required to submit a 'Life Certificate' (Jeevan Pramaan Patra). Often, this necessitates multiple visits to a bank or pension office—a task that can be particularly challenging for elderly individuals with limited mobility.
However, there is no longer any need to visit a bank for this purpose. Through the Central Government’s 'Jeevan Pramaan' facility, pensioners can generate a digital life certificate from home. This is made possible through 'face authentication,' where the user's identity is verified using their mobile phone camera.
How to submit your Life Certificate via mobile?
Pensioners need to download two apps onto their smartphones: 'AadhaarFaceRD' and 'Jeevan Pramaan.' Once downloaded, follow the steps below:
Download the apps: Install the 'Jeevan Pramaan' and 'AadhaarFaceRD' apps from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Operator Authentication: Open the 'Jeevan Pramaan' app and select the 'Operator Authentication' option. Enter the required details, such as your Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email ID.
OTP Verification: Enter the OTP received on your mobile phone. Then, complete the operator information and face-scanning process.
Pensioner Information: Navigate to 'Pensioner Authentication.' Enter the pensioner's Aadhaar number, mobile number, and the OTP.
Enter Required Details: Provide the necessary information, including the pensioner's name, PPO (Pension Payment Order) number, pension account number, bank details, and other relevant pension-related information.
Face Verification: Position your face in front of your mobile camera and follow the in-app instructions to complete the face scan.
Once verification is successful, your digital life certificate will be generated, and a 'Jeevan Pramaan ID' will appear on the screen. Keep this safe.
What should you keep in mind?
Ensure that the details of your Aadhaar number and mobile number are correct.
Ensure there is sufficient light in the room when performing the face scan.
Your face must be clearly visible to the camera.
Check the status of your life certificate once it has been generated.
If you are unable to complete the process via your mobile phone, you may seek assistance from a nearby bank, Common Service Centre (CSC), or 'Jeevan Pramaan' centre.
When should the certificate be submitted?
As a general rule, pensioners under the age of 80 can submit their life certificates between November 1 and November 30. For pensioners aged 80 or above, this process begins on October 1. However, rules may vary across different pension schemes; therefore, please verify the specific requirements with your pension-disbursing bank or department.
