Aadhaar new update: For every citizen of the country, the Aadhaar card is not just a piece of plastic, but their most important identity. Whether it's for school admission, opening a bank account, availing government benefits, or changing your address, it's required everywhere. However, updating Aadhaar details has been a headache until now. Changing your name required a separate document, and correcting your address required a separate document. One document was required for Proof of Identity, followed by another for Proof of Address. This entire process was time-consuming and often required people to repeatedly visit the Aadhaar center.

Now, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has eased this difficulty forever. According to media reports, the UIDAI has made a major and crucial change to the Aadhaar update rules. This change is nothing less than a gift for millions of users. You no longer need to submit numerous documents to update your name, address, date of birth, or other details. A single document will now be enough to handle all your work.

The 'One Document, All Updates' Formula
UIDAI has stated that if you have an official document containing all the necessary details, such as your name, full address, and photo, you won't need to submit separate proofs. This will act as a 'master document.' This means that if you have a single document that meets both the requirements for proof of identity and proof of address, you can update your Aadhaar details simply by submitting it. This will eliminate the hassle of submitting documents and speed up the update process.

How many times can you change your name and address?
UIDAI has allowed you to update your details, but it has also set certain limits, which every Aadhaar user should be aware of. If you're updating any information related to your name, address, or mobile number, it's important to keep these rules in mind:

Name: The most important thing is that you can change your name only twice on your Aadhaar card. This rule is very strict, so exercise extreme caution when updating your name.

Address and Mobile Number: This is the biggest relief. You can change or update your address and mobile number in your Aadhaar any number of times. There is no upper limit.

Gender: The facility to change the gender registered in your Aadhaar card is currently not available.

Date of Birth: This information can also be changed only a limited number of times.
