According to media reports, from July 1, it will become necessary to have an Aadhaar card to make a PAN card. Currently, any document for proof of birth date, name, and identity is considered valid for making a PAN card. But from July 1, it will not be possible to make a PAN card without an Aadhaar card.

Can link till this date
At present, while making a PAN card, users are given the option to link Aadhaar with a PAN card. However, now its linking will become mandatory. Users can link their PAN card to their Aadhaar till 31 December 2025. However, if someone links a PAN card to Aadhaar after 31 December, then he will have to pay a penalty.

How to link Aadhaar with a PAN card?
A PAN card can be linked to Aadhaar through income tax e-filing.

Step 1- First of all you have to go to the tax e-filing website.

Step 2- Here you will get the option of Link Aadhaar, click on it.

Step 3- Now enter both PAN and Aadhaar numbers here.

Step 4- After this, enter the mobile number which is registered with both of them.

Step 5- Now click OK on I agree to validate my Aadhaar details with UIDAI.

Step 6- Finally you will get a message of Pan Has Been Linked Successfully.
