Big initiative and big success of Gorakhpur University, now the opportunity to study online, so many students have passed the NET exam.
Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University has started an ODL program. Also, the students here have performed brilliantly in the UGC NET exam.
On one hand, Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University has started online and open distance learning (ODL) courses recognized by UGC, on the other hand, the students of the university have brought laurels to Gorakhpur in the entire state by achieving great success in UGC-NET, JRF and PhD eligibility examination.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Poonam Tandon, while formally launching these courses, said that this initiative is a historic step towards providing high quality education to the students of far-flung areas. Through these courses, now students will be able to do popular courses like B.Com, M.Com, BBA, MBA and MA (English) from their homes.
Facility of admission has been given in these courses up to international level. According to the Vice Chancellor, students from 245 countries of the world can enroll in these courses. The option of internship has also been given so that the students will get industry experience along with studies.
Success in NET-JRF
More than 150 students of the university have succeeded in the UGC-NET/JRF examination held in June 2025. The special thing is that more than two dozen of these students have been selected for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship). Research student Shreya Dwivedi of the Department of Political Science has increased the prestige of Gorakhpur University by securing 21st rank in the whole country.
University's initiatives became the key to success
The university has provided facilities like mock tests, net workshops, career counseling, and digital library for the students from time to time. Research based teaching policy and Faculty Development Program (FDP) have also made the teachers technically strong.
Prof. Anubhuti Dubey said that this success is the result of the combined efforts of all the departments and the number of successful students may increase in the coming days.
Online counseling for admission from today
The process of online counseling for admission in Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University will start from Thursday. Out of a total of 44 courses, there are 13 such courses. Where seats will be allotted through online counseling in the university campus as well as jointly in the participating colleges.
These mainly include 6 colleges in BA LLB, 5 colleges in BBA, eight in BCA, two in BCom Honors, three in BSc Agriculture, one in LLB, two in M.Ed., one in MSc Mathematics, one in MSc Physics, one in MCom, one in MA English, 3 in BPEd and one college in BA.Hons.
