Big changes in Fastag rules from August 1, do this before driving.
From August 1, after the previous update related to KYC requirements, new changes are going to be made to the Fastag rules. These changes aim to ease the toll payment process and reduce congestion at toll gates. Here's what you need to know about the upcoming Fastag rule amendments:
KYC deadline
Under the new Fastag rules, you must complete your KYC (Know Your Customer) process by October 31. Although KYC requirements were introduced earlier, the process was stopped after the deadline. Now, with the new decision effective from August 1, you must ensure that your KYC is completed.
New guidelines from August 1
NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) has issued new guidelines from August 1. During this period, you must complete the necessary KYC requirements. Fastag customers should ensure that their KYC is updated by this deadline.
What is changing?
If your Fastag is more than five years old, you will have to replace it with a new one. As per the new rules, if your Fastag has become old, you will have to replace it.
Update for old Fastag
Fastags older than three years will be updated. The vehicle registration number and chassis number must be linked to the Fastag. This update should be done within 90 days of purchasing the vehicle.
How to complete KYC
For KYC, you must have all the documents of the vehicle and the vehicle owner's ID card. You will have to upload clear pictures of the front and rear of the vehicle. KYC should be completed by October 31, 2024.
