Beti Hai Anmol Yojana: The central and state governments periodically launch various schemes to empower and educate girls. One such important scheme is the 'Beti Hai Anmol Yojana' (Daughter is Precious Scheme), launched by the Himachal Pradesh government. This scheme aims to provide a better future for daughters from economically weaker families and to remove obstacles in their education.

The 'Beti Hai Anmol Yojana' was launched in July 2010. This scheme is specifically for families living below the poverty line (BPL). Under this scheme, the government provides benefits to a maximum of two daughters per family. Upon the birth of a daughter, the government deposits ₹21,000 in a bank or post office account in her name, providing financial security for her future education and needs.

The biggest advantage of this scheme is that it not only provides assistance at the time of birth but also offers scholarships every year from the first grade to graduation. As soon as the child starts school, she receives ₹450 annually from grades 1 to 3.  In the fourth grade, she received ₹750, in the fifth grade ₹900, in the sixth and seventh grades ₹1050, and in the eighth grade ₹1200. For the ninth and tenth grades, she receives ₹1500 annually, and for the eleventh and twelfth grades, ₹2250 annually. Afterward, if the daughter pursues courses like BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BE, B.Tech, or MBBS in college, she receives ₹5000 annually.

Conditions for Eligibility
There are certain conditions to avail of this scheme. The child must be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh and must have been born after July 5, 2010. The family must belong to the BPL category, and the girl should not be married before the age of 18.

How to Apply?
The application process is quite simple. Parents can fill out the form through the online portal. This form needs to be submitted to the Anganwadi worker. The same worker helps in opening a bank or post office account in the child's name. After admission to school, the application for the scholarship is submitted through the headmaster.

Overall, the 'Beti Hai Anmol Yojana' (Daughter is Precious Scheme) is a significant step towards connecting girls with education and making them self-reliant, thereby bringing about positive change in society.
