Be careful: You may suffer a big loss in the name of free AI tool, hackers are waiting, here is the proof..
If you are also a fan of Artificial Intelligence (AI), then you need to be very careful. We are saying this because this craze of yours can cause you great harm. Even your bank account can be emptied. Hackers are using fake AI tools to hack and cheat people's devices.
Hackers are giving information to people about free AI video and photo-making tools. They are also promoting their fake AI tools so that they remain in the eyes of the people. Once installed on Windows and macOS, malware is also entering the system.
These malware not only steal your cryptocurrency wallet information but are also sending passwords and browsing history to hackers. Bleeping Computer has recently said in its report that hackers are spreading malware through a fake AI video and image generator website named "EditPro".
The report states that these new AI video tools are being promoted through fake posts on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The posts claim that users do not need any special skills and can use the AI tools for free.
The links in these fake posts take users to a fake website where the option to download the "EditProAI" tool is given. The ".pro" domain for Windows users and the ".org" domain for macOS is being used to spread malware.
Cookie banners and other designing techniques have been used to make these fake websites look like real ones. When users click on the "Get Now" button, their system starts downloading the "Edit-ProAI-Setup-newest_release.exe" (for Windows) or "EditProAi_v.4.36.dmg" (for macOS) file. So overall it would be better for you to be very cautious before using free AI tools.
