BC Sakhi Yojana: Under the BC Sakhi (Banking Correspondent Sakhi) scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government, 50,192 women have been trained as banking correspondents in rural areas.

BC Sakhi Yojana: Under the BC Sakhi (Banking Correspondent Sakhi) scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government, 50,192 women have been trained as banking correspondents in rural areas. Of these, 39,561 BC Sakhi are actively working and have transacted Rs 31,626 crore so far. From this, they have received a dividend of Rs 85.81 crore.

Started in 2020

BC Sakhi (Banking Correspondent Sakhi) scheme was launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 22 May 2020. The aim of this scheme launched under the leadership of CM Yogi is to make women self-reliant and provide banking services to the villagers near their homes.

What is the eligibility of BC Sakhi

In the scheme, minimum 10th pass, computer literate and eligible women have been selected and trained. This campaign is progressing rapidly with the partnership of Bank of Baroda, UCO Bank and UPCON.

The distance between banks reduced

BC Sakhi scheme has reduced the distance and cost of banks in villages, as well as women have also got respectable employment. This scheme is proving to be a strong step towards self-reliant Uttar Pradesh.

Who is getting the benefit

Bank customers are getting the most benefit from this scheme of the state government. Banking services are being given a big gift by the government, especially to the people of the village. The money that the villagers used to spend earlier in coming and going to the bank to withdraw and deposit money is also being saved. So far, certification of 50,192 BC Sakhis has been completed by IIBF through RSETI in the Gram Panchayats of the state. With this policy of the state government, women are becoming self-reliant at the rural level.
