Banks are a very integral part of the lives of all of us and we can easily save our money without any fear. Banks provide many facilities to their customers on savings accounts (Saving Account Minimum Balance), but along with these facilities, customers also have to follow some important rules and regulations.

The most important of these rules is to maintain a minimum balance in the savings account (Saving Account Minimum Balance Rules). Let us tell you that every bank decides its own minimum average balance rule. If the minimum balance is not maintained in a person's account, then the bank can charge a penalty from him.

Let us tell you that the minimum balance is the amount that every person should keep at least in his account. The amount of minimum balance is different for every bank. If you do not maintain the minimum balance in your account, then you may have to pay a penalty to the bank. The two big banks of the country i.e. State Bank of India and ICICI Bank have fixed different minimum balance amounts for their customers. If you are also one of the crores of customers of both the banks, then we are giving you information about this rule of both the banks-

Minimum balance rules for SBI account holders-
State Bank of India (SBI Minimum Balance Rules) has fixed the minimum balance rule in its accounts according to the area. If your account is in an urban area branch, then you must keep at least Rs 1,000 in your account. At the same time, the minimum balance amount for rural area account holders is Rs 1,000. If you are in a metro city, then this amount has been fixed at Rs 3,000.

Minimum balance rules for ICICI Bank account holders-
ICICI Bank (ICICI Bank Minimum Balance Rules) has also fixed the minimum balance amount according to the area. If you have an account in an urban or metro city, then you must maintain a balance of at least Rs 10,000. At the same time, this amount should be 5,000 in semi-urban and at least 2,500 rupees in rural areas. If this is not done, you may have to pay a fine.

The rule of maintaining a minimum balance may end soon.

While on one hand, banks charge for maintaining a minimum balance, Minister of State for Finance Bhagwant Karad has given an important statement on this. The minister said that the board of directors of banks can decide to end the penalty on the accounts of those who do not maintain a minimum balance (bank account minimum balance). In response to a question, Karad had said that banks are completely independent bodies. The board of directors of banks can decide to abolish the penalty for not maintaining the minimum balance.

ICICI Bank has started a special service for its customers, who will get great benefits

Recently, the media had asked the Minister of State for Finance Karad a question related to maintaining the minimum balance of the account. The media had asked whether the Center is considering ordering the banks that no penalty should be imposed on accounts in which the deposit amount goes below the minimum prescribed level. On this, he said that this decision would be taken by the banks. If this decision is taken by the banks, then the customers of all the banks, big and small, will benefit from it.
