On October 1, 2025, banks will be closed in Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Nagaland, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya on the occasion of Dussehra, Ayudha Puja (Maha Navami or Vijayadashami), and Durga Puja (Dasai).
On October 2, 2025, there will be a national holiday across India on the occasion of Vijayadashami and Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. Banks will be closed in all states and union territories.
On October 3 and 4, 2025, banks will be closed in Sikkim on account of Durga Puja (Dasai).
On October 6, 2025, banks will be closed in Tripura and West Bengal. Lakshmi Puja will be celebrated on this day.
On October 7, 2025, banks will be closed in Karnataka, Odisha, Chandigarh, and Himachal Pradesh on account of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima.
October 18, 2025, is the festival of Kati Bihu in Assam. Banks will be closed on this day.
October 20, 2025: Banks will be closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Assam, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. This day is for the festivals of Diwali, Naraka Chaturdashi, and Kali Puja.
On October 21, 2025, banks will be closed in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur, Jammu, and Srinagar due to Diwali Amavasya (Lakshmi Puja), Deepawali, and Govardhan Puja.
On October 22, 2025, banks will be closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar due to Diwali, Vikram Samvat New Year, Govardhan Puja, Balipadyami, and Lakshmi Puja (Diwali).
On October 23, 2025, banks will be closed in Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh for Bhai Dooj, Chitragupta Jayanti, Lakshmi Puja (Bhaitri Dwitiya), and Ningol Chakkouba.
October 27, 2025: Banks will be closed in West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand for Chhath Puja (evening worship).
On October 28, 2025, banks will be closed in Bihar and Jharkhand for Chhath Puja (morning worship).
On October 31, 2025, the last day of the month, banks will be closed in Gujarat for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary.
