Bank Holidays This Week: Do you have any urgent bank-related work, such as cheque clearance or cash deposits, scheduled for this week? If so, take note. During the week of August 24 to August 30, banks in various states across the country will remain closed for three to four consecutive days.

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list, banking operations will be suspended this week due to major festivals like Milad-un-Nabi, Onam, and Raksha Bandhan. Before heading out, please check which days banks will remain closed in your city.

Where and when will banks remain closed this week?

According to the RBI calendar, holidays have been scheduled state-wise for this week:

September 4 (Friday – Janmashtami / Krishna Jayanti): Banks will remain closed in several cities, including Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Branches closed—how will your urgent work get done?

There is no need to worry even if bank branches are closed. Digital banking services will remain operational 24x7. UPI, IMPS, NEFT, and RTGS services will function round-the-clock without interruption. You can continue to use ATMs, net banking, and mobile banking apps as usual.

If you need to attend to in-branch tasks—such as handling drafts, cheque clearing, or cash deposits—please check the holiday schedule for your nearest bank branch before heading out to avoid any inconvenience.
