Bank Holiday rules: There was a long-standing demand for 5 days' work and 2 days' leave in banks. Now, a big update has come on this; the RBI has also cleared everything regarding this rule (leaves rules in banks). As soon as this new rule is implemented in banks, bank employees (bank employees news) will be able to get extra rest during the week. It is important for every bank employee to know about this update.

Proposal reached the government -

Indian Bank Confederation had brainstormed with the unions of bank employees (bank employees holidays) about 5 days of work and 2 days leave in banks in a week. After several rounds of meetings, an agreement has also been reached on this issue. This proposal (bank holiday agenda) has been sent to the government. However, the government has not made any official confirmation on this. Till the RBI (Reserve Bank of India) and the government agree on this rule, this rule cannot be implemented.

This is the stance of the RBI-

RBI and the government take decisions together on major issues related to banks and bank employees (RBI bank leave rules). Till now, this issue is limited to IBA and bank employee unions only. No official information has been given by the government or the RBI regarding this. According to reports, the RBI or the government (govt update on bank holidays) has not yet considered this proposal. This shows that the RBI has no stance or inclination towards this yet.

Bank timings will change as soon as the rule is implemented-

If the rule of 5 days work and 2 days holiday in a week (bank holidays new rules) is implemented, then the timing of banks will also change. With the implementation of this rule, the opening time of banks will be 9:45 instead of 10 am, and the closing time will be 5:30 instead of 5 pm (new bank timing). Earlier in 2015, the government and the RBI (RBI latest update) had approved the rule of keeping banks closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the week. Since then, the employees are also expecting that the leave rule will be implemented every Saturday. Since then, this demand has been made continuously, but till now it has not come to fruition, nor has this rule been implemented.

This is what the employees say-

The bank employees say that if the government and the RBI together approve this rule (the 5-day working rule in banks), then the working system in banks can improve. Right now, apart from Sunday, banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays. Like every Sunday, bank employees want a leave on every Saturday as well (5 day working rules in banks). In such a situation, there is a demand to implement the 5-day week rule in banks. Now it is up to the government and RBI to implement this rule or not.
