If you also have any banking-related work pending, then this news can prove to be useful for you. Actually, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) 2025, banks have been declared closed in many parts of the country. Apart from this, banks will remain closed in many places for a total of three days including the Sunday holiday. This information has come from the bank holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Let us know if banks are going to be closed in your city tomorrow too.
When and where will the banks be closed?
June 6, 2025, Friday: Banks will remain closed in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi on the occasion of Bakrid.
June 7, 2025, Saturday: Bakrid holiday will be applicable in the rest of the country except Ahmedabad, Gangtok, Itanagar, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. Banks will remain open in these five cities, as it is the first Saturday of the month and there is no holiday on that day. 8 June 2025, Sunday: There will be a regular holiday on Sunday across the country, so all banks will remain closed.
No effect on online banking
The holiday of bank branches will not affect digital banking services. That is, services like net banking, mobile banking, UPI, ATM, and debit/credit card will continue to work normally. If you want, you can use NEFT, RTGS, checkbook request, and other digital options related to fund transfer even on these days.
Why is this information important?
Bank holidays across the country are based on local festivals, religious occasions and regional events. In such a situation, banks may be closed in one city, while they remain open in the rest. Therefore, before doing any important work related to the bank, make sure to check whether the bank is open or closed in your city. If you are planning to go to the bank between June 6 and 8, keep this schedule in mind so that you do not face any inconvenience.
