Diwali is coming. Due to Diwali and related festivals, banks will remain closed on certain days in many states. State-wise bank holidays will be different. In some states, bank branches will remain closed for four days due to different festivals.

31 October (Thursday) - Holiday on Thursday in Delhi, UP, Maharashtra and West Bengal

On the occasion of Diwali on 31 October i.e. Thursday, there will be a Diwali holiday in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. At the same time, there will be no holiday on this day in Tripura, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, and Meghalaya.

1 November (Friday) - Holiday on Friday in many states including Karnataka-Uttarakhand

On Friday, banks will remain closed in Tripura, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Manipur on the occasion of Deepawali, Kut Mahotsav and Kannada Rajyotsava.

2 November (Saturday) - Holiday on Saturday in these states including UP, Gujarat, Maharashtra

On Saturday, bank branches will remain closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Diwali (Bali Pratipada) / Lakshmi Puja (Deepawali) / Govardhan Puja and Vikram Samvat New Year.

3 November (Sunday) - Banks will remain closed for four days in some states and three days in others

Many states will have a long holiday of four days during Diwali. Banks will remain closed for four consecutive days on 31 October, 1 November, 2 November, and then 3 November as Sundays. Banks will remain closed for 4 consecutive days in Karnataka, Maharashtra. In some states, banks will have a long holiday of 3 days. Banks will remain closed for three consecutive days on 1 November, 2 November, and then 3 November as Sundays. The states where bank branches will remain closed for three days include Uttarakhand and Sikkim.

Holidays in many states due to local festivals apart from Diwali
On November 1, there will be holidays in bank branches in many states due to different Kut festivals. These festivals include festivals like Chawang Kut, Thalfwang Kut, and Pawl Kut. Chawang Kut is celebrated by the Kuki-Chin-Mizo tribes of Manipur to mark the end of the harvest season and to honor the deity for a good harvest. Thalfwang Kut is a harvest festival celebrated in the Aizawl district of Mizoram in November. Pawl Kut is a festival in which a ritual called Chavghnavat takes place.

Holiday on November 1 due to Rajyotsava in Karnataka
Rajyotsava is celebrated in Karnataka on November 1, it is also called Kannada Rajyotsava. It is the Karnataka Foundation Day celebrated every year on November 01. Diwali is also to be celebrated on the same day. It is celebrated as a symbol of "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and victory of knowledge over ignorance".
