Why will banks remain closed tomorrow, Friday?
According to the RBI's holiday list, tomorrow—Friday, October 2—marks a nationwide holiday on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti (the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation). As this is a national holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, all government and private banks, as well as financial institutions, will remain completely closed across all states and Union Territories.

Digital banking services will remain operational.
Customers will not face significant inconvenience despite bank branches being closed. Online banking and digital services will continue to function without interruption during the holidays:
UPI and Digital Payments: UPI platforms like Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm will remain operational as usual.
Net Banking and Mobile Apps: Fund transfer facilities via IMPS and NEFT will continue to be available.
ATM Services: ATMs will remain operational for cash withdrawals.
Cheque Clearance: Branch-based tasks such as cheque clearing and bank drafts can only be completed after the holidays.
