Ayushman Card Rules: The rules governing the Ayushman Card have been updated. Failure to complete the necessary process may lead to difficulties in receiving free treatment at the hospital.

The Ayushman Bharat scheme has become a major support for free treatment for millions of families in the country. Under this scheme, eligible individuals receive free treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh annually. However, the government has now made important changes to the rules associated with this scheme.

The government has set new rules for obtaining an Ayushman Card. Now, Aadhaar-based e-KYC will be mandatory for the Ayushman Card. Without e-KYC, neither a new card will be issued nor will the old card guarantee treatment. This means that those with incomplete records may have their free treatment stopped.

The National Health Authority has further tightened the card issuance process. A new system called BIS 2.0 has been implemented for this purpose. Under this system, the beneficiary's identity will be verified rigorously through Aadhaar. This is to prevent ineligible individuals from benefiting from the scheme.

The government has also started using artificial intelligence to detect fraud. Thousands of Ayushman Cards have been found to be suspicious during investigations so far. Physical verification of several cards is underway, and those found to be fraudulent are having their medical benefits immediately suspended.

The rules for adding new family members to the Ayushman Card have also been made stricter. Earlier, this process was easier. But now, adding a new name without proper documents and verification has become difficult. The aim is to ensure that only genuinely needy families remain in the scheme.

The government says that these changes were necessary because many people were taking advantage of the scheme who were not entitled to it. This was putting a strain on government resources and harming the truly needy. The new rules have been introduced to keep the system clean.

If your Ayushman Card is not linked to Aadhaar or your information is incorrect, you may face difficulties during treatment. Therefore, it is advised that you check your e-KYC and card status in time to avoid any interruptions in free treatment when needed.
