Health Schemes for Delhi's Elderly: After the new government came to power in Delhi, Ayushman is being introduced for 70-year-olds, but do you know which health scheme is available for 60-69-year-olds?

In our country, the central and state governments bring many types of schemes for different sections from time to time. The purpose of these schemes is to provide financial help to the people, provide subsidy or provide facilities like free treatment. In Delhi, usually after the age of 70, the elderly easily get the benefit of the Ayushman card, but if a person is 69 years old, then there are health schemes of Delhi government for him too. Let's know about those schemes.

Ayushman Arogya Mandir

This is part of the scheme running in collaboration with the Central Government and Delhi Government. Mohalla clinics were opened in the Kejriwal government, but after the arrival of CM Rekha Gupta in Delhi, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are being opened. People of any age and class can get free treatment here.

What is its specialty?

Primary health services are provided at every locality and ward level.

It provides free doctor consultation, medicines and lab tests.

This clinic is very helpful for the elderly, women and children, because treatment is available here without long queues.

Emphasis is also laid on mental health, elderly care and preventive health services here. All those people can get treatment here, who do not have an Ayushman card.

Delhi Arogya Kosh

This is an old but very important health scheme of the Delhi government, which is for those patients who come from Below Poverty Line (BPL) or Economically Weaker Section (EWS).

What is its specialty?

This scheme bears the full cost of those diseases and medical procedures, whose treatment is not possible in government hospitals.

In this, treatment of expensive diseases like cancer, kidney failure, cardiac surgery is covered.

If treatment of a patient is not possible in Delhi government hospitals, then he is treated free of cost in private empanelled hospitals.

In this, financial assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh is given.

For eligibility, it is mandatory to provide Delhi's permanent resident certificate, income certificate and identity card.

Apart from this, Kejriwal had talked about running Sanjeevani Yojana in the year 2024. It was said that through this, treatment could be done for senior citizens of 60 years and above, but this scheme is not running right now.
