August 1: These rules will change from August 1! It will directly affect your pocket..

From August 1, 2025, many important changes related to everyday life are going to be implemented in the country, which can have a direct impact on your expenses, transactions, and budget. Whether you make payments through UPI throughout the day, have an SBI credit card, or wait for an LPG cylinder every month, the rules are going to change on all these fronts. It is important to be alert about these changes coming from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the banking regulator RBI, and oil companies.
A new limit will come on UPI.
From August 1, many new changes will be implemented in the rules for using UPI. Now, if you make transactions throughout the day with apps like Paytm, PhonePe, or Google Pay, then it is important to keep these limits in mind.
Balance can be checked only 50 times a day.
The bank account linked to a mobile number on any one UPI app can be viewed only up to 25 times a day.
AutoPay transactions will now be processed only in three fixed time slots: before 10 am, between 1 pm and 5 pm, and after 9:30 pm.
According to NPCI, these changes are being made to make the system faster and more secure, so that unnecessary load on the network does not increase.
Bad news for SBI credit card holders
If you are a co-branded credit card holder of SBI, then from August, there is going to be a big change in your free insurance cover. SBI has decided to discontinue the air accident insurance cover available on many ELITE and PRIME cards.
Earlier, insurance cover of ₹ 50 lakh to ₹ 1 crore was available on these cards, but now this facility will be discontinued. This change will apply to partner cards of SBI-UCO, Central Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, and PSB.
Change in LPG cylinder prices possible.
Like every month, this time too, there may be a change in the prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders on August 1. In July, commercial cylinders became cheaper by ₹ 60, but the prices of domestic LPG cylinders remained stable.
This time, it is expected that domestic consumers may get some relief. If the prices decrease, it can be relief news for the people struggling with inflation.
Eye on CNG and PNG prices too
Oil companies often revise the prices of CNG and PNG on the first day of the month. However, there has been no change in it since April. Last time in April, the price of CNG in Mumbai was ₹ 79.50 per kg and PNG ₹ 49 per unit. Now it has to be seen whether there is any change in August or not.
Airfare will be decided by the price of ATF.
There is also a possibility of change in the prices of Air Turbine Fuel (ATF), i.e., aircraft fuel. If ATF becomes expensive, air fares may increase, and if it becomes cheaper, passengers may get relief. Oil companies also revise ATF prices on the first of every month.
RBI meeting also in August
RBI's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting will be held between August 4 and August 6, in which important decisions can be taken regarding interest rates. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra can announce changes in rates after the meeting, which can affect home loans, car loans and EMI.
