Due to the rapid increase in the trend of digital payments, today most people prefer to remain cashless. But still sometimes there is a need for cash. Due to which people do transactions through ATM. This is the easiest way to withdraw cash. Although ATM is very convenient, but sometimes it also puts you in trouble. Thugs create clones and cheat ATMs, in such a situation there is a need to be cautious.

Apart from this, sometimes while withdrawing money from ATM, cash does not come out, but your money gets deducted from the account. If something like this ever happens to you, there is no need to worry.

Information is received through SMS

Many times money is not withdrawn from ATM due to technical fault. The ATM rejects your transaction, yet you receive an SMS that the amount has been deducted from your account. This is a serious situation and becomes more worrying when the amount withdrawn is large. By the way, let us tell you that if money is deducted then it is automatically deposited in your account. But sometimes this can happen due to fraud, in which fraudsters tamper with the ATM and use it to 'clone' your card and later money can be withdrawn from your account.

If this happens, do this immediately

In such a situation, the first thing you should do is contact bank customer care. For this one has to call the 24-hour customer service helpline of the bank. By doing this your problem will be noted and after recording your transaction reference number, the executive will register your complaint and issue you a complaint tracking number. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in this case the credit should be credited to the customer's account within seven working days.

There is also a provision for compensation

There is a provision for compensation in case the bank does not return the amount debited from your account within the stipulated time. According to RBI rules, the bank has to resolve the complaint within 5 days. If the bank does not resolve the issue within this period, then compensation of Rs 100 per day has to be paid. If you are still not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint on https://cms.rbi.org.in.
