If you hold a debit or ATM card from any bank, you are likely eligible for this free insurance. However, due to a lack of information, most people fail to avail themselves of this benefit or miss the opportunity to file a claim when the need arises.

How is the insurance cover provided?

The accident insurance provided with a debit or ATM card depends on the type of card you hold.
Standard 'Classic' or RuPay cards usually offer insurance coverage of up to ₹1 lakh.
For Platinum cards, this amount can go up to approximately ₹2 lakh.
Meanwhile, certain premium or Visa cards offer accident insurance of up to ₹5 lakh.
