Are you unemployed? Here’s an opportunity for you! 12-day free goat-rearing training in Chhatarpur—apply today..
SBI RSETI Training: If you are unemployed, here is a golden opportunity for you. The State Bank of India Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (SBI RSETI) in Nowgong, Chhatarpur, is launching a 12-day training program on goat rearing for unemployed youth from underprivileged backgrounds. Applications for this program are now open.
Rajaram Kushwaha, a faculty member at the SBI Rural Self-Employment Training Institute in Nowgong, stated in a conversation with 'Local 18' that a free training program on goat rearing for unemployed youth will begin on November 12, 2026. The training will continue until November 23, 2026, and the application process has already commenced.
Rajaram explains that goat rearing is often referred to as the "poor man's ATM." However, in many villages, people still follow traditional, less efficient methods of goat rearing—often failing to generate a profit even when keeping as many as 100 goats. Through this 12-day free training program at SBI RSETI Nowgong, participants can learn about advanced goat breeds, vaccination, and proper feeding techniques. Additionally, they will receive information on government schemes for goat rearing and guidance on obtaining loans.
The training is completely free of charge.
Rajaram notes that the program is entirely free, covering not only the training itself but also lodging and meals. Participants only need to bring their own clothing; all other arrangements, including accommodation, are provided at no cost.
Admission for 30 seats.
Unemployed men and women from Chhatarpur district can register for this 12-day training program at RSETI Nowgong on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Applications will be accepted until June 15. A total of 30 participants will be enrolled in this training program.
Training by Senior Officials
The training will be conducted by scientists from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Agriculture Science Centre) and veterinarians from the Animal Husbandry Department, who will provide comprehensive information on goat rearing. During this free training, participants will learn about various goat breeds—specifically, which breeds are best suited for milk production and which are ideal for meat production.
Additionally, the training will cover proper dietary requirements for goats, vaccination procedures, and methods for disease prevention. Participants will also learn how to set up a goat-rearing unit in a limited space. Furthermore, the institute's faculty will provide information regarding goat-rearing schemes and available loan options.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the training, participants must be residents of rural areas in the Chhatarpur district, aged between 18 and 50 years, and have completed at least the 5th grade of formal education. Applicants must also belong to one of the following categories: BPL (Below Poverty Line) cardholders, holders of food grain ration slips, or MGNREGA job card holders. The training is entirely free of charge and includes residential (lodging) facilities.
Establishing Self-Employment
Upon completion of the training, all participants will be awarded a certificate. Assistance will be provided in filling out loan applications—including those for government loan schemes and the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana—which will then be forwarded to the respective banks. Once the loans are approved and disbursed, participants will be able to launch their own self-employment ventures.
