Online shopping saves time, and many times we get the desired goods at a discount, but this facility can also become difficult for us at times. Many times people become victims of fraud in the name of cheap products.

In today's digital age, where on one hand technology is making our life easier, cyber thugs are also robbing people by adopting new methods. Recently, a case has come to light in which a person was duped of Rs 12.50 lakh on the pretext of getting a cheap Apple product. Many times, in this fraud, it also happens that someone ordered an expensive phone online, but soap came out in the box, someone got a fake product and someone got a bad product. In such a situation, it is important to be a little cautious, so let's know what things should be kept in mind while shopping online so that you do not become a victim of any fraud.

What things should be kept in mind to avoid fraud?

1. Always shop from a trusted website - Always order from a known website for online shopping. Many times scammers create fake websites that look like real, but their only purpose is to steal your data and money. Therefore, always check the URL of the website and make sure that there is https instead of http.

2. Avoid offers - If a website or link says that a phone worth Rs 50,000 is available for Rs 2,000, then understand that something is wrong. Too much discount is often a method of fraud. These offers are often a sign of fraud. In such a situation, be a little cautious and shop only from the official site or app.

3. Choose open box delivery - Whenever possible, choose the option of open box delivery. In which the delivery agent opens the package in front of you. If any wrong or broken item comes out, then you can complain immediately.

4. Make a video of unboxing - Make a video while opening the parcel. If there is any problem, this video can help you, which will make refund or replacement easier.

5 Choose Cash on Delivery (COD) - Mostly choose the option of cash on delivery. With this, payment can be made after seeing the product. If it is a new website, then order goods from COD first.

6. Be careful with social media links - Do not click on the link of cheap offers coming on Instagram or Facebook. These links can take you to fraud websites which can steal your bank details.

7. Read ratings and reviews - Before ordering any product, read the ratings and user reviews given below it. This will let you know the quality of that product and what was the experience of other people.

8. Understand the return and refund policy - If a product turns out to be defective, then the return policy of the e-commerce site is necessary to return it. Before ordering, check whether you can return that product or not, if return is not possible, then the loss will be yours.

9. Compare bank offers and real prices - Many times companies increase the real price of the product and then show huge discounts on it. This makes you think that you are getting a lot of benefit, but in reality you are being cheated. Before shopping, definitely check the price of that product on the brand's official website or other platforms.
