Are banks open or closed today, Saturday? Check the RBI holiday list now.
Before heading to the bank, it is essential to verify whether the branch in your city is open or closed. You can consult the RBI’s holiday list to avoid wasting time on an unnecessary trip to the branch.
If you are planning to complete any banking-related tasks today—Saturday, October 24—be sure to check whether banks in your city are open. You wouldn't want to waste your time by visiting a branch without knowing its status. As today is the fourth Saturday of the month, all public sector, private, and regional rural banks (RRBs) remain closed, in accordance with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines.
According to the RBI, all banks across the country remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, while they operate as usual on the first, third, and fifth Saturdays. Consequently, banks nationwide will be closed today. Furthermore, tomorrow—Sunday, October 25—will be a weekly holiday.
Upcoming bank holidays:
October 26 (Monday) – Due to Lakshmi Puja, Accession Day, and Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, bank branches will remain closed in Agartala, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Jammu, Shimla, and Srinagar.
October 29 (Thursday) – Banks in Shimla will remain closed on account of Karva Chauth.
October 31 (Saturday) – Bank branches in Ahmedabad will remain closed to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
November 1 (Sunday) – Bank branches across India will remain closed due to the weekly Sunday holiday.
How to manage your banking tasks when branches are closed:
There is no need to worry about the fact that banks will be closed for four days next week. A bank branch being closed does not mean that digital banking services are unavailable. Services such as UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, and ATMs will remain operational 24x7. In such a situation, you can conduct financial transactions, pay bills, and handle recharges—all from the comfort of your home. You can also withdraw cash from an ATM if needed. However, for tasks like cheque clearance, KYC updates, accessing a locker, or carrying out high-value transactions, you will need to wait until the bank opens.
