Apply for GATE Today; Miss the Deadline and You'll Have to Pay a Late Fee

GATE 2027 Exam: Candidates should apply by today, October 5, for the GATE exam scheduled for February. IIT Madras is organizing GATE 2027. A new test paper has also been added to the exam this time.

GATE 2027 Exam: Today is the last day for candidates preparing for GATE 2027 to submit their applications. IIT Madras had previously extended the application deadline, allowing candidates to apply without a late fee until October 5. Those who have not yet registered should do so today to avoid the late fee. Applications with a late fee will be accepted until October 12, 2026.

Earlier Deadline Was September 27

The original deadline for regular registration for GATE 2027 was set for September 27, 2026. IIT Madras extended this deadline to provide candidates with an additional opportunity to apply. Consequently, candidates who have not yet filled out the form should apply promptly.

What Has Changed in GATE 2027?

IIT Madras is organizing GATE 2027. A new test paper has been introduced this year: Robotics and Automation (RA) has been included in the GATE papers for the first time. Additionally, Textile Engineering and Fibre Science (TF) has been categorized under the engineering papers.

The exam is conducted across various disciplines, including Engineering, Technology, Science, Commerce, Arts, Architecture, and Humanities.

Who Can Apply for GATE 2027?

Students currently in the third or final year of a degree program at a recognized institution are eligible to apply for GATE 2027. Additionally, candidates who have completed a recognized degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities are also eligible to take the exam.

How to register for GATE 2027?

First, visit the official GATE 2027 website.
Open the application portal and register.
Fill in the required details and upload the necessary documents.
Pay the application fee.

Double-check all information before submitting the form.

For Indian candidates, using DigiLocker is mandatory during the application process. The DigiLocker account used to fill out the GATE form should not be deleted after the application and fee payment are completed.

GATE 2027 Exam to be held in February

The GATE 2027 exam will take place over a period of three weeks in February 2027. The exam dates have been scheduled for February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027. The exam results will be declared on March 19, 2027.
