The Government of India runs the Ayushman Bharat scheme for free treatment of the poor. But do you know that apart from Ayushman Yojana, there are many such medical schemes in the country under which free treatment is provided.

Many medical schemes are run in the country for those who are poor and financially weak. Apart from this, the government also runs many types of medical schemes for government employees.

Apart from Ayushman Bharat, the government runs the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme which is currently running in different states. In this, the government of every state provides free or cheap treatment to the poor and needy people.

CGHS This scheme is for government employees. In this, central government employees, their families and pensioners can avail cheap or free treatment under this scheme.

RBSK Free treatment is provided for children in this. In this scheme, children from birth to 18 years get free treatment for serious diseases.

ESIC This scheme is for private job holders. In this scheme, if an employee works in a company or factory and his salary is less than ₹ 21,000, then he gets free treatment and medicines.

Medical facility for railway, defense and PSU employees Under this scheme, employees of railway, army, air force and government companies (PSU) get free treatment.

Apart from this, government hospitals are the best for free treatment. Even if the name is not in any scheme, still treatment is free or very cheap in government hospitals.
