Google has started its latest operating system update Android 16 Beta. In this, a completely new and smart interface Material Expressive UI is being seen. This new design is even richer and more personalized than the earlier Material You. It was showcased in the recent Google Android Show.

Who can install the update?

If you are one of those users who are associated with Google's Android Beta program and are using Pixel series phones, then this update is now available to you.

How to update

For this, you have to open the settings of your phone. After that go to the system section. After going to the system section, click on the software update option. If you are showing Android 16 QPR1 Beta then download it. Restart the phone, now your new UI is ready.

Which devices will get this update?

At present Android 16 Beta is only available on Google Pixel devices. This includes Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Pixel 8, 8 Pro, 8a, Pixel Fold, Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Pixel 9a

What's new in Material Expressive UI?

According to Google, this new UI makes the user experience even more natural and interactive. The most important changes in it are as follows, Live Activities like your cab status, food delivery updates etc. will be shown on the lock screen. The curvy icon and new typeface give the screen a fresh look. New color themes will come for different sections in the settings. New tools will be available for customization on the home screen and lock screen and a smooth and clear interface will be seen in the notification bar.

When will the final version come?

Google plans to make this QPR1 Beta completely stable by June 2025. It is expected that this version can be the default OS in the new devices of the Pixel series.
