Indian Railways' New Amrit Bharat Express: Starting April 28, 2026, Indian Railways is launching two new Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting UP and Maharashtra, which will operate between Banaras–Hadapsar and Ayodhya Cantt–LTT.

Indian Railways' New Amrit Bharat Express: From April 28, 2026—that is, today—Indian Railways is introducing a major new facility for passengers. Two new Amrit Bharat Express trains will be operated to enhance connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. These trains have been specifically designed with low- and middle-income passengers in mind.

The first train will run between Banaras and Hadapsar. This train will commence its inaugural journey from Banaras on April 28 at 4:45 PM. It will consist of a total of 22 coaches, including 8 Sleeper Class coaches, 11 General coaches, 2 SLR coaches, and 1 Pantry Car. Additionally, the train will make stops at 18 stations along its route, such as:

Prayagraj
Jhansi
Bina
Itarsi
Bhusawal
and major stations like Manmad.

Ayodhya Cantt–LTT Amrit Bharat Express

On the very same day, Indian Railways will also launch a new Amrit Bharat Express service between Ayodhya Cantt and Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus). This service will be operated under train numbers 22111/22112. Its inaugural special service—Train Number 02212—will depart from Ayodhya Dham Station at 16:45. This train, too, will run with a composition of 22 coaches, comprising:

8 Sleeper coaches
11 General coaches
2 SLR coaches
and 1 Pantry Car

Furthermore, this train will halt at 12 major stations, including:

Sultanpur
Pratapgarh
Prayagraj
Manikpur
Satna
Jabalpur
Itarsi
Bhusawal
Jalgaon
Nashik Road
Kalyan
and Thane
