Amidst the controversy, the Sanchar Sathi app has seen significant gains. Sources within the Department of Telecommunications claim it was downloaded 600,000 times on Tuesday.

The Sanchar Sathi app has been in the news for the past two to three days. The government has ordered mobile companies to preload it on their smartphones. Meanwhile, downloads of the app have increased rapidly. According to Department of Telecommunications sources, the app is usually downloaded 60,000 times daily, but on Tuesday, this number increased to 600,000. According to reports, the source stated that people are responding well to it, and its downloads increased 10-fold on Tuesday.

Total downloads so far

According to official data, the app has been downloaded 15 million times so far. It should be noted that on November 28th, the government ordered companies to preload the app on new smartphones to prevent cyber threats and fraud. Whereas orders were given to push this app through a software app on phones already sold.

Controversy is brewing over this issue.

The government has made this app mandatory for smartphones. This order is facing opposition. Opposition parties and critics say that this decision is an attempt to keep the government under surveillance. As the controversy escalated, the government clarified that users can delete the app if they wish. Tech giant Apple has also clarified that it will not comply with the government's order.
