The allegations of TikTok sending data to China had already created a sensation, but now an even bigger danger may be hidden in your phone. This danger is some free VPN apps, which quietly send your data to foreign servers.

After the recent ban on pornographic sites in the US and Europe, millions of users started using VPN for the first time to hide their internet traffic. According to VPNMentor, as soon as pornographic sites were banned in the UK, VPN usage increased by 6,000%. The same trend was seen in the US and France.

A big danger is hidden in a free VPN.

Many free VPN apps available in the market are in the top download list on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, but many of these apps have been found to have serious privacy flaws and questionable ownership. Simon Migliano of Top10VPN says, "Users should completely avoid Chinese-owned VPNs, as their risks are very high."

The Tech Transparency Project (TTP) report also revealed that millions of Americans have downloaded such apps that are secretly sending their internet traffic to Chinese companies. The report warns that Apple and Google stores are still hosting such apps.

Uninstall these VPN apps immediately.
TTP has advised iPhone and Android users to delete these VPN apps. In India, too, these apps can pose a threat to the privacy of users. Therefore, if you are using these apps, then remove them immediately-
