The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced on August 7 that metro services on the Purple Line would be affected for a brief period due to essential maintenance work scheduled for August 9.
According to the BMRCL, maintenance work will be carried out between Swami Vivekananda Road and Indiranagar metro stations. To facilitate this work, metro services between Baiyappanahalli and MG Road stations will be suspended from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM on August 9—a closure lasting just two hours.
Which routes will remain operational?
Even during the maintenance period, metro trains will continue to operate normally according to their schedules on certain sections. These include:
Challaghatta to MG Road
Baiyappanahalli to Whitefield (Kadugodi)
Madavara to Silk Institute
RV Road to Bommasandra
Metro trains on all these routes will continue to run according to their scheduled timings.
When will normal service resume?
The BMRCL stated that once the maintenance work on the affected section is completed, metro services on the Purple Line will be fully restored to normal operations starting at 9:00 AM.
