The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is conducting the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) 2026 nationwide. This exam facilitates recruitment for various Group B and Group C posts across AIIMS and several other central government and autonomous health institutions. Since 2021, the Examination Department of AIIMS New Delhi has been organizing this exam on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This year, the recruitment covers several posts, including Junior Administrative Assistant, Senior Administrative Assistant, Data Entry Operator, Personal Assistant, Stenographer, Private Secretary, Assistant Security Officer, Receptionist, Junior Medical Records Officer, Junior Warden, Hostel Warden, Telephone Operator, and Social Security Officer.

Issues at Two Jaipur Centers

The CRE 2026 exam is being conducted in three shifts across August 31 and September 1. The purpose of scheduling multiple shifts is to accommodate candidates who have applied for more than one post. A total of 30,142 candidates registered for this exam. For the first shift on August 31, 21,098 candidates were registered, of whom 16,193 appeared for the exam. While the exam proceeded according to schedule at most centers across the country, it was disrupted by technical issues at two centers located at TCS iON Digital Zone, Sitapura, Jaipur. These centers are designated as RJ0101 and RJ0102. A total of 2,000 candidates were registered across both centers; specifically, 1,342 candidates from RJ0101 and 436 from RJ0102 appeared for the exam.

Power Issue Disrupts Exam

The examination began at 9:00 AM. During the process, internal power supply issues arose at both centers, disrupting the conduct of the exam. To safeguard the interests of the candidates and maintain the integrity of the examination, AIIMS decided to cancel the exam at these centers.

Re-examination Scheduled for September 7

The examination for candidates registered at the two Jaipur centers will now be reconducted on September 7, 2026. Arrangements for new examination centers are currently underway. Depending on the number of candidates, the exam may be held either simultaneously or in separate batches.

Report Sought from TCS

AIIMS has requested a detailed report on the incident from TCS. Additionally, the company has been instructed to preserve system logs, CCTV footage, and records of control room communications. These documents will be used to investigate the causes of the disruption. AIIMS has reiterated its commitment to transparency, fairness, and providing equal opportunities to all candidates throughout the recruitment process.
